Backgammon Dice Roller
Play backgammon with a fair pair of 3D dice, right in your browser. Each throw tumbles across the board with real physics, and both values are shown clearly so you can plan your moves right away.
When you roll doubles, 3DRoll celebrates them — and by the rules of backgammon you play that number four times instead of two. Great for a board with missing dice or a game played over video call.
How to roll
- Tap the ROLL button, tap any die, or swipe across the table to throw.
- Press and hold the button or a die to charge up — the longer you hold, the wilder the dice bounce and the higher they fly.
- On a phone, simply shake it to roll.
- Double-tap a die to lock it so it stays put on the next roll.
What is on the die
- ⚀ 1
- ⚁ 2
- ⚂ 3
- ⚃ 4
- ⚄ 5
- ⚅ 6
Why people love 3DRoll
- Realistic physics: every throw tumbles, bounces off the edges and settles naturally — the result is truly random.
- Roll up to 6 dice at once on a phone or computer, and mix different dice in one throw.
- 18 materials, from classic ivory, marble and walnut to crystal, opal, galaxy and candy dice.
- Polyhedral D&D dice (d4 to d20 and d100), plus ready-made dice for parties, chores, food and decisions — or make your own with text, emoji or photos.
- Roll history of your last 30 throws with totals, saved only on your device.
- Works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Mac and PC. Add it to your home screen to use it like an app.
FAQ
How do doubles work in backgammon?
Rolling doubles lets you move four times the number shown, for example four moves of 5 with double fives. 3DRoll shows both values and celebrates the doubles.
Is there a doubling cube?
No, 3DRoll only rolls the two dice. Keep track of the doubling cube on your board as usual.
Is 3DRoll free?
Yes. 3DRoll is completely free, with no sign-up and nothing to install. Just open the page and roll.
Are the rolls really random?
Each throw starts with a random spin and force, then a physics engine simulates the dice bouncing and settling. The face that ends up on top is the result, just like real dice.
Does it work offline?
After your first visit over HTTPS, the page is cached, so you can keep rolling without a connection. You can also add it to your home screen.
