Privacy Policy

The short version

3DRoll is a free online dice roller, and we want you to be able to use it without worrying about your privacy.

There is no account and no sign-up. Your settings and roll history stay on your device, we only count anonymous, aggregated usage statistics, and we never sell your data.

Who runs 3DRoll (data controller)

3DRoll is an independent project. The operator responsible for this website (the data controller) can be contacted at [email protected].

What stays on your device

Your settings (dice, material, table, sound, language and dice size), your custom dice, including any photos you add to them, and your roll history (the last 30 rolls) are saved only in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are never uploaded to us.

You can delete them at any time: use Settings → Reset, tap "clear" in the History panel, or clear your browser data.

To count how many devices use 3DRoll each day, the site also keeps the date of your last visit in local storage. It is just a date, not an identifier.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand what people enjoy and what to improve, we count events such as page views, rolls, which dice types and materials are chosen, which buttons are tapped, and shares.

Each event is stored only as an aggregated daily counter, together with coarse context: language, device type (phone, tablet or desktop), page, and country or region. The country or region is derived by Cloudflare from the connection; we do not store your IP address.

For dice embedded on other websites, we also count the website that embeds them (its domain name).

We don't build individual profiles, we don't assign user IDs, and we don't use fingerprinting.

Hosting by Cloudflare

3DRoll is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses, as described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

We may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set any cookies ourselves. Our hosting and CDN provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to protect the site from bots and abuse.

Local storage is used only to make the features you use work, as described above.

Advertising and third-party services

We currently do not show ads. If we introduce advertising or other third-party services in the future, we will update this policy beforehand and, where required by law, ask for your consent before any such cookies or technologies are used.

Whatever happens, we will never sell your data.

Share links and embeds

When you share a link, your dice setup (including the text on custom dice, but never photos) is encoded in the part of the link after the "#". Browsers do not send that part to our server.

Dice embedded on other websites do not read or change the saved 3DRoll settings of the people visiting those sites.

Legal basis (EEA/UK)

We process anonymous statistics and keep the site secure based on our legitimate interest in running, protecting and improving 3DRoll (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Using local storage on your device is strictly necessary to provide the features you request.

Data retention

Aggregated statistics (daily counters) are automatically deleted after 25 months.

Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it (Settings → Reset, History → Clear, or by clearing your browser data).

Cloudflare keeps technical logs according to its own privacy policy.

International transfers

Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical data may be processed outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Cloudflare relies on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the EEA or UK under the GDPR, or in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Because our statistics are aggregated and contain no identifiers, we usually cannot link them to you. The data on your device is fully under your control.

To exercise a right or ask a question, email us at [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

Children and age

3DRoll is generally suitable for all ages, but some party dice (drinking games) are intended only for adults of legal drinking age in their country.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest version.
